Confidence

Confidence has many meanings. We can be confident in ourselves or our abilities confident that something will happen, confident about certain facts (Including salvation), Confident in Gods promises. We can also take someone into confidence, which denotes a great deal of trust. Confidence can lead down two tracks. It can lead to a cocky self confidence which results in pride and boasting (I am the best), or it can lead to an inner assurance which translated often in the Bible as boldness. with Christ by our side we boldly set forth to do his work, and we are confident that we can do anything that is within his will. Our ultimate confidence comes from trusting that God's Word is true. If we are assured of that, then we know we know all the blessings that await us in Heaven, and we can endure any trials we face here on earth. To totally lack confidence in self is to fail to recognise that God has given us certain talents and the ability to use them. Don't trust yourself more than your limited sufficiency. Don't trust God less than all-sufficiency. We read in Psalm 118:8 it is better to trust the Lord than to put confidence in people. Trust is related to a degree of trustworthiness. Confidence comes from knowing that God is completely in control. We also read in Psalm 27:1 The Lord is my sight and my salvation so why should I be afraid. and in 1 John 3:1 See how much our heavenly Father loves us, he allows us to be called his children. Confidence comes from knowing that god loves us unconditionally. In Proverbs 25:19 Putting confidence in an unreliable person is like chewing with a tooth ache or working on a broken foot. It is important to love others and give the benefit of the doubt. But it is foolish to depend on someone who has record of failed trust. In Job 23:3 If only I knew where to find God. I would go to his throne and talk with him there. When tragedy strikes, our first inclination is to wonder what happened to God. Nagging doubts case us to question his care for us, But Gods love and care are endless. Losing confidence in that fact puts in danger of falling away from him. In Matthew 11:28 we read Come to me aloof you who are heavy laden and I will give you rest. When you begin to doubt God, run to him not away from him. How else will you discover how much he readily loves you? In John 14; 1-3 don't be troubled, I am going to prepare a place for you, when everything is ready I will come and get you. Losing confidence in God may cause us to forfeit the eternal blessings he is preparing for us. In 1 John 3:2 But we do know that when he comes we will like him. A good confidence is a realisation and an assurance that God loves you. that he has given you talents and gifts and the ability to use them for him. that he has offered you salvation and eternal life in Heaven. Knowing this gives the complete certainty that your life has meaning now and forever. There are two promises that God gives us. 1/Be assured that God watches over you Psalm 121:8. 2/God is in charge over the world John 16:33. Well, I think that about it I do hope that this has helped you please do get back to me if I can help further. Keep on looking up to the light which is Jesus Christ and remember Jesus loves you and has a plan for your life. Sincerely in Christ.
