About Homosexuality

There is a lot of controversy in Christian chat rooms about the issue of homosexuality. Can a person be Christian and be homosexual…and the simple answer is Yes and No.
We are commanded by the Lord to love one another and it is quite justifiable to love a person of the same sex: HOWEVER…1 Corinthians 6 v 9 tells us that homosexuals will not inherit the Kingdom of God. Also 1 Thessalonians 4 v 3 tells us the will of God, our sanctification, is to abstain from sexual immorality. The great controversy is over what homosexuality really is and how it is interpreted.

As someone in a chat room said recently “Is it right for Christians to accept gays”?……The answer to that is yes.. Christians must accept gays as we are instructed by our Lord to LOVE one another. BUT we are unable and not expected to accept the sins of others, So we should LOVE the person but ABHOR the sin.
What is the sin?? The sin is the lying together of two persons of the same sex.

What does the Bible truly say about homosexuality??


Romans 1 v 27 says, “In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.”

Leviticus 18 v 22; You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.

Leviticus 20 v 13; If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them. The Bible says that because of certain abominations such as homosexuality, a land shall vomit out its inhabitants. Lev 18 v 25. The Apostle Paul called it “Shameful”, the result of being given up by God to vile passions. Romans 1 v 24-27.


In the Old Testament, those who practiced these things were removed from the congregation of Israel by execution.
The Apostle Paul shows homosexuality as a final order of rebellion against God. When the people of God exchange the truth of God for a lie, and begin to worship the creature instead of the Creator, they are given up to evil. When values are turned upside down and moral anarchy appears, men burn with lust for other men and women burn for women, and they will receive in their own bodies the punishment for their actions…Romans 1 v 22-27.
From a Biblical viewpoint, the rise of homosexuality is a sign that the society is in the last stages of decay.
I do feel it is important to stress though that living in the GRACE of the Lord is also an important issue and we are to accept and love all Gods people (All living persons) as they are all of his Creation. However, he gave man the freewill to choose his own path and many are misled.
We are commissioned as disciples of the Lord to give love to these people and to tell them the good news of the Gospels which is what we should all be doing. We should never judge or persecute them as it is not of the true Order of God.
All true Christians have a real relationship with the Lord and will know what is expected of them. Anyone who is living with the sin of lying with one of the same sex cannot have that relationship and will not know the Lord. They may call themselves Christians but are not living with an infilling of the Holy Spirit.
As for the issue of whether these people should be allowed in Christian chat rooms or not: What do you think??? What would Jesus do??? He would show Love and Compassion and would forgive the sinner saying words to the effect of “Go and sin no more”.
Many who read this will have grown with differing influences from their own backgrounds but I urge you to read up on the attitudes that Jesus lived with and to put them into practice.
