Faith
However Faith than believing. It is trusting our very lives to what we believe. For example, we can believe that someone can walk across a deep gorge on a tight rope, But are we willing to allow this person to carry us across? Faith says yes, Faith in God says that we are willing to trust God with our very lives. We are willing to follow his guide lines for living as out lined in The Bible because we have the conviction that this will be the best for us. We are even willing to endure ridicule and persecution for our Faith because we are so sure that what we believer is true and that the Christian life is what is best for us. eternally. We ask ourselves Why should we have faith in God? We read in Isaiah 25:9 " This is The Lord whom we trusted, Let us rejoice in the salvation he brings". In John 5:24 we read "I assure you, those who listen to my teachings and believe in God who sent me have eternal life". Faith is the only way to get to Heaven, It is the doorway to eternal life. If God created eternity then only through God can we get their. In Hebrews 11:1 we read "What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. Faith gives us hope". We must often ask ourselves How does Faith in God effect my relationship with God. How does it change the way I live? In Geneses 15:6 we read "And Adam believed The Lord and The Lord declared him righteous because of his Faith. In Romans 3:24-25 we read that "Yet now God in his gracious kindness declares us not guilty. We are made right with God when we believe that Jesus shed his blood, sacrificing his life for us. Sin breaks our relationship with God because it is rebellion against God. A Holy God cannot live with unholy people. But when we accept Jesus as Saviour and ask him to forgive our sins, this simple act of Faith makes us righteous in Gods eyes. We read in Isaiah 26:3 "You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you". Faith in God brings peace of mind and heart because we know that we belong to him, and we know that one day all pain and suffering will end. In Romans 8:5 It states "Those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit". In 1 Corinthians 12:11 we read " I will write about the special abilities The Holy Spirit gives to each of us". In Galatians 5:22 "But when The Holy Spirit controls our lives, he will produce this kind of fruit in us, Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness. Faith is inviting Gods Holy Spirit to live within us. It is not just an act of the mind but it taps us into the very resources of God so that we have the power to live in an entirely new way. If God himself is living within us our lives should dramatically changed. When I am struggling in my Christian life does this mean that I have any doubts? Does it mean I have less faith? In 2 Peter 1:1-9 we read "He has given us all his rich and powerful promises, So make every effort to apply the benefits of these promises to our lives". In Geneses 15:8 we read "But Abram replied O' Sovereign Lord how can I be sure that you will give it to me? But we also read in Matthew 11:2-3 "John The Baptist sent his disciples to Jesus Are you really the Messiah we have been waiting for"? Many people in the Bible whom we consider to be pillars of Faith had moments of doubt. The key is to never give up our Faith and always to ask , If over time , Our lives have been moving closer to or further away from God. Even during moments of doubt, you must invest the effort and discipline to allow your Faith to grow. We should of cause ask our selves how can we as committed Christians pass our faith on to the generations so they can grow in our faith to? We read in Judges 2:10-11 " After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge The Lord or remember the ,eighty things he had done for Israel. Our Generations devotion to God does not secure the next generations devotion to God, But one generation can leave a legacy of godliness. To secure the next generation; We must involve ourselves for a lifetime with that generation sharing Gods goodness. God promises us the following (a) Believe in Jesus and you will be saved (Acts 16:31) (b) All who believe will one day be praising God in Heaven. (2 Thessalonians 1:15) (c) If you stay strong in your faith you will receive praise and honour. (1 Peter 1:7) Please remember though everyone Keep on looking up to the light which is Jesus Christ and Remember Jesus loves you all and has plans for your lives.
Remember Ruth what has happened over recent times with you should be classed as perhaps a grave mistake but nothing else, The Bible speaks a lot on the subject of mistakes as we read in Geneses 3:1-13 "Yes" Adam admitted but it was the woman you gave me who brought me the fruit, The serpent tricked me she replied. Both Adam and Eve responded by shifting the blame. We also read in Judges 13:1-16:31 Finally Samson told her his secret, So the Philistines captured him and gouged out his eyes, Then Samson prayed to the Lord "Sovereign Lord remember me again. Samson’s life although filled with foolish mistakes, was still used mightily by God. In 1 Samuel 13:1-14 we read So I said "The Philistines are ready to march against us. So I felt obliged to offer the burned offering myself before you came". Some times our mistakes are created by the selfish pursuit of our own agenda. Also in James 3:2 we read We all make mistakes, but those who control their tongues can also control themselves in every other way. One of our most common mistakes is saying something we later regret. Also in Jonah 1:1-3 But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction in order to get away from The Lord. The worst mistake we can make is running from God. Remember Ruth we can run but we cannot hide from God. In Exodus 2:11-15 After looking around to make sure there was no one watching Moses killed the Egyptian and buried him in the sand. Even Moses was marred by an immature and terrible mistake. We also read in Matthew 26:69-75 Peter said I swore by God I don’t know the man. Christ restored Peter to fellowship even after his most powerful mistake. In Philippians 3:12-14 No dear friends, I am still not all I should be but I am focusing all my energies on this one thing, Forgetting the past, and looking forward to what lies ahead. Following Christ means allowing him to forgive our mistakes and calls us to a more glorious future. Sincerely In Christ, Clive (Matched_1)
